MIT and NASA make history with the next generation of exoplanet- hunting satellites. TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket that lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. Launch occurred right on time at 6:51 p.m. on the 18th of April 2018. The craft is performing well and science operations are anticipated to begin at the end of June 2018.
